When it comes to seedbed cultivators, Steketee is a well-known name. Until 2020, Steketee was a leading supplier of seedbed cultivators to many farms in the Netherlands and across the border.
Following Lemken’s acquisition of Steketee, production of Steketee soil cultivation machines was discontinued. As a result, the supply of spare parts also came to an end.

To create a good, level seedbed, the ploughed soil needs to be levelled. When the soil is prepared evenly, sowing can be carried out more accurately, resulting in better and more uniform crop emergence. A level seedbed is also very important for hoeing later in the season.
With a Maxisprint or Supersprint seedbed cultivator, you can level and crumble the soil.
The design of the Steketee Supersprint and Maxisprint
The design of the Supersprint and Maxisprint is largely the same. Both machines are equipped with 30 cm wide goosefoot points, which level the ploughed soil. Each point can be individually adjusted in height using a pin-and-hole connection. This is particularly useful for loosening wheel tracks.
Behind the points, a large 50 cm roller is mounted. The roller consists of angle irons and, in addition to maintaining the working depth of the machine, also helps to crumble the soil.
To enhance the crumbling effect, a spring-loaded levelling plate is fitted directly behind the angle-iron roller. This keeps the roller filled with soil. Behind this, there are five rows of vibrating tines, which create a sufficient layer of fine, loose soil at the top of the seedbed.
For a perfectly level seedbed, another spring-loaded levelling plate is mounted behind the vibrating tines.
Finally, the machine is equipped with a rear roller set. This standard configuration consists of a serrated bar roller for final soil crumbling and a square roller, which can slightly firm the seedbed to improve moisture management.
The entire rear roller set can be tilted to adjust its operation to the prevailing conditions.
